RULES AND REGULATIONS

Personal effects are allowed but not permitted in the front seat or on the floor behind the driver’s seat. 360-degree visibility is required. Personal effects are not permitted on roof or roof racks, with the exception of car-top carriers that are specifically designed to be securely attached to such racks and enclosed.

For pickup trucks, personal effects are not permitted above the level of the cargo bed and must be adequately secured and protected by the shipper. Loads are subject to carrier inspection and approval.

The following may NOT be shipped in your vehicle:

 Hazardous materials, items of extraordinary value, goods shipped for sale or speculation, or firearms.

 Vehicles may not exceed the maximum legal gross weight as specified by the      manufacturer. The gross vehicle weight can typically be found stamped on the inside of the driver door jamb.

The vehicle needs to be delivered to us with less than 1/4 tank of fuel. This is a U.S. Coast Guard regulation. If the vehicle contains more than 1/4 tank of fuel, a fuel drainage fee will be added to your freight bill.

VEHICLE
PREPARATION

Wash your vehicle.

Remove all personal belongings from your vehicle*. Car covers, roof cargo carriers, attached tents, bike racks, and additional batteries of any kind must be removed from the vehicle.

Reduce fuel to a level between 1/8 and 1/4 of the tank, but not exceeding 1/4 of the tank. For electric vehicles, batteries should have a charge between 45% and 65% or they may be refused.

Remove all fire extinguishers from your vehicle.

Empty all auxiliary propane tanks if your vehicle carries any.

For electric vehicles only, the state of charge should be between 45% and 65%. All charging cable(s)/adaptor(s) specific to the electric vehicle brand and model type should be left in the vehicle.

It is recommended that all remote monitoring devices not be used while the vehicle is in Shuplux’s possession. Shiplux will not accept any liability for charging electric vehicles, dead batteries, or any functions controlled by a remote monitoring device. All electric vehicles and their accessories are shipped at their own risk.
